Larry Crawford State Pee Wee & Junior Golf Tournament
Monday, July 29th
All youth golfers are invited to the 2024 Larry Crawford State Pee Wee & Junior Golf Tournament. We will have the following age groups:
- Woods Boys: 15-18
- 18-Holes Diamond Course (6,055 yds)
- Sorenstam Girls: 15-18
- 18-Holes Circle Course (5,308 yds)
- Spieth Boys: 13-14
- 18-Holes White Tees (5,768 yds)
- Korda Girls: 13-14
- 18-Holes Red Tees (4,848 yds)
- Mcllroy Boys: 11-12
- 9 Holes Red Tees (2,424 yds)
- Ko Girls: 11-12
- 9-Holes modified course (1,520 yds)
- Finau Boys: 10 & Under
- 9-Holes modified course (1,520 yds)
- Thompson Girls: 10 & Under
- 9-Holes modified course (1,520 yds)
The GCGC Pro Shop will follow-up with tee times via the parent’s email address. Tee times will start at 7:45 am.
Grinnell High School Boys Golf Meet
Monday, April 1st, 4 pm – 6 pm
GHS Boys will have a golf meet on Monday, April 1st. The course will be closed during this time, but patrons are welcome to watch. Carts will be available for $10 to rent.
Grinnell High School Boys Golf Invitational
Friday, April 19th from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm
GHS Boys will have their annual invitational on Friday, April 19th. The course will be closed while we host this tournament for our regional golf teams. Patrons are welcome to watch the event. Carts may be rented for $10.
Firecracker Golf Tournament
July 4th-7th
- 4 Person Teams
- Open to everyone
- 9-hole handicapped (net) event. Please contact the clubhouse if you do not have a GHIN or estimated handicap.
- Format: Each team will given a USA ball that is the “firecracker”. One person will be the firecracker on each hole and their net score will count. The one net best ball of the remaining 3 players will also count.
- Example: Hole 1: Firecracker has a net par and the best score of the remaining 3 players is a net birdie = -1
- The person who is the “firecracker” will rotate on each hole.
- Tees
- Women: Red
- Men 60 & Over: Red
- Men 59 & Under: White
- Can play anytime from July 4th through July 7th
- Can play multiple times if you repay the entry fee of $40/team.
- Can play on different teams.
- 50% of the Entry Fee will be paid out via club credit to flight winners.
Fall aeration will occur on Monday, Oct 2nd. We have amazing playing conditions because of these steps we take. Thank you for your patience while we keep improving the turf conditions!

Hits & Giggles
Wednesday, Aug 14th.
Grab a partner and signup for this 2-gal scramble on Wednesday, August 14th. Your $25 fee/person includes golf, cart, prizes, appetizers, and wine upon completion of your round. This 9-hole event will be a 1:00 pm shotgun start. Open to the first 18 teams that RSVP.

Jeff and Cynthia call Austin, TX home, but were spending some time in West Des Moines when they heard of the tournament and decided to play. Jeff had played in the Larry Crawford State Pee Wee in 1968, placing 2nd, so it was nice for him to come back 55 years later to win the tournament!
Tuesday, July 4th from 10-11:30 am
Join us for some fishing at Grinnell College Golf Course from 10 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 4th. We will have worms and prizes, you bring your kids and fishing poles!
GCGC Couple’s Golf Tournament
Saturday, July 27th
We will have our GCGC Couple’s Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 27th. This will be 18-holes of selective-drive, alternate shot. There will be an entry fee of $50/couple with 50% of the prize pool paid out via club credit. Tee times start at 9:00 am and can be made by calling 641-269-3590 or emailing golfcourse@grinnell.edu.
